Mrs. Louise Hardy first became involved with the Glamorgan Community Kindergarten when her daughter was enrolled in the program. Louise has stayed involved with the kindergarten since that time, either on the School Council or the Board of Directors, thus seeing her other two children enjoy the program as well. In 1994, Louise was hired by the Board of Directors to be the Program Coordinator. She is responsible for all administrative duties and sees to the smooth operation of every facet of the Kindergarten. Holding her Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Calgary, she has previously taught kindergarten, as well as various elementary grades, and when needed, Louise can still substitute for our Kindergarten.
CLASSROOM / PROGRAM
Val Driedger, Afternoon Kindergarten Teacher
Mrs. Val Driedger brings a wealth of experience to Glamorgan Community Kindergarten. She obtained her Bachelor of Education Degree at the University of Alberta and taught with the Edmonton Public School Board for 11 years before moving to Calgary in 2001. Her Special Education background has provided her with a unique perspective which includes teaching preschoolers with special needs, teaming with a wide range of professionals and educational support staff, and providing inclusive education in her kindergarten, grade one and grade two classrooms. She is a wife and mother to three children as well as an avid reader, downhill skier, mountain biker, jogger, pianist, and general life enthusiast. Come and meet Val at our Registration / Open House in January.
Laura Osadetz, Morning Kindergarten Teacher
Mrs. Laura Osadetz first came to the kindergarten when her oldest daughter attended in 2017. Since then, she has gone from first time K parent, to volunteer, school council chair, second time K parent, board member, substitute teacher and now morning class teacher!
Laura earned her Bachelor of Education & Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of Lethbridge. She has a varied teaching background in both Edmonton and Calgary and is beyond excited to make her home at the GCK. With her passion and training in early literacy and physical education, she brings experience and energy to our program.
When she isn’t in the classroom, you can find her hiking, biking, running, camping or skiing in the surrounding mountains with her husband and two girls.
